Kitchen Tricks: Peeling Fresh Ginger

This is one of those easy peasy kitchen tricks I’ve been using for years that I thought I’d share:

I peel fresh ginger with a ..

wait for it ..



It’s near impossible to manoeuvre around all the bumps and lumps without hacking them off when peeling with a knife, and you’ll end up with a small piece of usable ginger – and a heck of a lot of waste.

This is where the tip of a teaspoon comes in handy!


Notice how very little ginger came off with the peel? I promise it’s easy peasy effortless and once you try peeling ginger this way, you’ll never go back to using a knife.
